In celebration of the city of St. Louis's 250th birthday this year (2014), there was a special cake. Times that by 250, that is! Called 'Cakeway to the West', 250+ cakes have been placed all over the St. Louis area, including the Metro East. Places that have cakes include historical landmarks, parks, museums, popular restaurants, as well as government places. These are just a few examples as the places represented St. Louis in a memorable way.

#20: National Blues Museum/MX Complex
The premier National Blues Museum is scheduled to open in 2015. This was almost put in Chicago, but lost to St. Louis, as they devoted more to preserving the history of Chess Records. Several high-profile personalities, including St. Louisan John Goodman, Buddy Guy, Derek Trucks, among many others have supported this upcoming museum. While other cities are famous for 'the blues' (Kansas City, Chicago, New Orleans), it is St. Louis that has the high honor of hosting this important project. The museum is said (by its website) to have many educational programs as well as a theater that sits 1,000!
